Important Information
When testing must be done in a closed area, activate the brakes and use blocks to prevent the machine from moving during the tests. Let only approved personnel on the machine. Keep other personnel off the machine and in view of the operator.
All tests and adjustments must be made with the oil in the hydraulic control system at normal operating temperature. Be sure the linkage adjustments are correct before making any tests.
TRANSMISSION CONTROLS IN FIRST SPEED FORWARD WITH ACCUMULATOR ACTIVATED

Check valve. 10. Modulating orifice. 11. Check valve. 12. Line for lubrication. 13. Accumulator. 14. Oil cooler. 15. Torque converter. 16. Spool valve. A. Pressure tap, P3, for converter inlet. B. Pressure tap for pump. C. Plug (must be removed while checking primary pressure). D. Pressure tap, P1, for clutches. E. Pressure tap for lubrication. F. Pressure tap for converter outlet.Location of Pressure Taps and Transmission Testing
LOCATION OF PRESSURE TAPS
A. Pressure tap, P3, for converter inlet. B. Pressure tap for pump pressure. D. Pressure tap, P1, for clutch pressure.
PRESSURE CONTROL VALVE (3P3470)
5. Modulating relief valve. 6. Load piston. 17. Spacers. A. Pressure tap, P3, for converter inlet. B. Pressure tap for pump pressure. C. Plug (must be removed while checking primary pressure. D. Pressure tap, P1, for clutch pressure. Adjustment Of Transmission Control Linkage
1. Disconnect rod (8) from transmission lever (7).2. Put shift lever (1) in the center of the NEUTRAL slot (2) to hold levers (3) and (4) in place.3. Make adjustment to rod (5) so it will be 11.66 in. (296 mm) long.4. Make adjustment to rod (6) to put lever (4) in alignment with lever (3).5. Move shift lever (1) from end to end of the NEUTRAL slot (2) several times. If the levers (3) and (4) and shift lever (1) move freely, the rods (5) and (6) are in adjustment.6. Put transmission lever (7) in the NEUTRAL detent and shift lever (1) in NEUTRAL position.7. Adjust length of rod (8) so bolt (9) will go into hole in end of transmission lever (7). Install nut and lock washer (10).8. Move the shift lever (1) through the entire operating range and check for detent engagement in the transmission and for free linkage movement.
