PROBLEM
Certain 1712448 solenoids having a date code of week 13 of the year 2000 or earlier are susceptible to failure caused by moisture and should be removed from dealer stock. A new seal in the plastic connector block for the solenoid significantly improves the service life of the solenoid by preventing moisture entry.
ACTION REQUIRED
Inspect all 1712448 Solenoids for date codes of Week 13, 2000 or earlier. The date code can be found on top of the solenoid. Remove the solenoids from dealer stock.
1712448 SOLENOID INSPECTION
Correct solenoids have "14 00" (Week 14, 2000) or later stamped on the top of the solenoid
SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES
Submit one claim for all 1712448 Solenoids that are removed from parts stock.
PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
