This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI3203" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI3203" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
This Revised Service Letter replaces the November 6, 1998 Service Letter. Changes have been made to the Affected Product.

A direct hardening operation was omitted on the 7T9031 Ring Gear used in the R.H planetary & brake group of certain D6R, D6R DS LGP, D6R XL, D7R, DS, AND D7R DS LGP Tractors with differential steer. This can resuling in reduced fracture toughness of the gear. The gear needs to be replaced before failure occurs.

1 - 7T9031 Gear-RingAction Required
Follow instructions provided in Disassmebly & Assembly section of Service Manual to break R.H. track, drain final drive, remove outer axle, and remove final drive, planetary and brake from machine.
Replace 7T9031 Ring Gear as per Disassembly And Assembly instructions, then reassemble all in reverse sequence.
Fill final drive with oil and test for correct operation.
