Rework Procedure
1. Using mild steel, fabricate a strap and plate as shown in Illustrations 1 and 2.2. Remove engine side panels and hood.3. Install strap by removing 6V5217 Bolt used to attach dipstick to intake manifold. Use 6V5217 Bolt and 3E4352 Washer to attach strap between dipstick and intake manifold as shown in Illustration 3.4. Attach plate to strap using 6V3940 Bolt and 3E4352 Washer as shown in Illustration 3.5. Locate point to weld plate to muffler support as shown in Illustration 3. Before welding attach work lead to muffler support.
6. Route wiring harness as shown in Illustration 4.7. Check the tightness of the 3 bolts on th muffler support at the exhaust manifold. These bolts should be tightened to a torque of 21 5 lb. ft.
