Follow all safety recommendations for welding on a fuel tank. See the article, "Welding On Fuel And Hydraulic Tank" on Page 8 of the March 8, 1972 Service Magazine.
1. Fabricate a 3.0 mm (.12") thick plate to the dimensions shown in Illustration 1.
Illustration 1. Dimensions for plate fabrication.2. Drill six holes in the top and bottom plates in the open area in the back of the fuel tank assembly. See Illustration 2 for the size and location of the holes. Make sure metal chips do not get inside the fuel tank.3. Weld the plate to the fuel tank as shown in Illustration 2.
