Note: Put identification marks on all hose assemblies, on all wires, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.

Position lower offset boom assembly (1) in a horizontal position. Put Tooling (A) under the front of the lower boom assembly in order to support the boom assembly.
Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7421, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release".
Remove the hydraulic oil tank. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tank and Filter (Hydraulic) - Remove".

Disconnect harness assembly (2) and remove clip (3).

Disconnect four hose assemblies (4) and two hose assemblies (5).

Disconnect hose assemblies (6).

Attach a suitable lifting device to the boom cylinder (7). Put slight lifting tension on the boom cylinder.

Remove the retaining nuts, retaining bolt (9) and pin (8).

Remove the retaining nuts, retaining bolt (10) and pin (11). Machines may be equipped with shims between the cylinder bores for the boom cylinder. If equipped, remove the shims and put identification marks on the shims for assembly purposes.
Remove boom cylinder (7). The weight of the boom cylinder is approximately 117 kg (258 lb). Note:

Attach a suitable lifting device to lower offset boom assembly (1). Put slight lifting tension on the lower offset boom assembly.

Remove retaining bolt (13) and the washer from pin (12).

Use Tooling (B) in order to remove pin (12). Rotate pin (12) so the lock plate of the pin does not interfere with the tool box during pin removal. Carefully remove lower offset boom assembly (1) from the machine. The weight of the lower offset boom assembly is approximately 320 kg (705 lb).
Machines may be equipped with shims at the pin joint of lower offset boom assembly . If equipped, put identification marks on the shims for assembly purposes. Remove the shims from the pin joint.

Remove lip seals (14).
Use Tooling (C) in order to remove sleeve bearings (15).
