Information:
Starting Above 0°C (32 °F)
Key must be in run position with engine running to maintain electrical and hydraulic functions and prevent serious machine damage. If the engine does not start, return the key to OFF before returning it to START.Do not crank the engine for more than 15 seconds. Allow the starter to cool for 2 minutes before cranking again.
1. This machine is equipped with the Engine Neutral Start System to prevent any uncontrolled operations of the hydraulic system. The system allows engine startings only when the hydraulic activation control lever is in the LOCKED position. Move the hydraulic activation control lever back to the locked position.2. Move the hydraulic controls to the HOLD position. 3. Move the governor control lever to the medium speed position.4. Turn the engine key start switch to the START position.5. Release the key switch after the engine starts.6. Return the governor control lever to idling position to warm up the engine.Starting Below 0 °C (32 °F)
In cold weather, starting the engine may be difficult due to an increased viscosity of engine oil and reduced capacity of battery. Proper engine starting procedures are especially important with cold weather conditions. If the engine fails to start at the first cranking, return the starter key switch to "OFF" and wait at least 30 seconds before repeating the starting procedure.Repeated use of the air heater will rapidly discharge the batteries. If the air heater indicator does not glow red, this is an indication of blown relay fuse. Have the fuse replaced. Remove a fuse after disconnecting the battery negative cable.
1. Repeat steps 1 thru 3 in the previous section. 2. Turn the start key switch to the "HEAT" position to preheat the air heater. After about 15 seconds, the heater indicator will glow red. This indicates that the engine is ready to start. Turn the key to the "START" position to start the engine.3. Release the key switch as soon as the engine starts.4. Return the governor control lever to idling position to warm up the engine.Starting with Jumper Cables
Batteries give off flammable fumes that can explode.Prevent sparks near the batteries. They could cause vapors to explode. Do not allow jump cable ends to contact each other or the machine.Do not smoke when checking battery electrolyte levels.Electrolyte is an acid and can cause personal injury if it contacts skin or eyes.Always wear eye protection when starting a machine with jump cables.Improper jump procedures can cause an explosion resulting in personal injury.Always connect battery positive (+) to battery positive (+) and battery negative (-) to battery negative (-).Jump only with a battery source and with the same voltage as the stalled machine.Turn off all lights and accessories on the stalled machine. Otherwise, they will operate when the jump source is connected.
When starting from another machine, make sure the machines do not touch. This will prevent damage to engine bearings and electrical circuits.
Use of Jumper Cables
This machine has a 24 volt starting system. Use only equal voltage for jump starting. Use
