Remove Front Housing
Start By:a. remove crankshaft front seal & wear sleeveb. remove governor & fuel pump drivec. remove water pumpd. remove oil pane. Remove the engine front support. 1. Install Tool (B) as shown. Attach a suitable lifting device to Tool (B).2. Remove five nuts (2) and cover (3).3. Remove five bolts (4) that hold front cover (1) to the cylinder block.4. Remove front cover (1) and the gasket.5. Use Tool (A) to remove the studs from the front cover and the cylinder block.Install Front Housing
Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of both the front cover and the cylinder block of any old gasket material. The mating surfaces must be free of all oil, dirt or other contaminants prior to assembly. 1. If removed, put 9S-3265 Retaining Compound on the front housing and cylinder block studs and install with Tool (A).2. Put clean engine oil on the O-ring seal for the fuel injection pump housing.3. Install Tool (B) on front housing (1).4. Put a new gasket and front housing (1) into position on the front of the cylinder block.5. Install bolts (4) that hold front housing (1) to the cylinder block.6. Install cover (3) and nuts (2) on the front housing.7. Remove Tool (B).8. Cut the front housing gasket even with the bottom of the cylinder block.End By:a. install front engine supprtb. install oil panc. install water pumpd. install governor & fuel pump drivee. install crankshaft front seal & wear sleeve.
