Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

DEF Tank Filler Cap

Clean blue DEF tank filler cap (1) and the surrounding area.
Remove the blue DEF tank filler cap.
Fill the tank with diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). Note: Do not fill the DEF tank from a contaminated container or funnel.Note: Do not over fill the tank. DEF can freeze and needs room for expansion.Note: The backup alarm will sound with two, quick beeps during DEF fill if the engine start switch is in the ON position, track speed is 0 mph, and DEF fluid level prior to filling is less than 85%. The backup alarm will sound with one, quick beep if the DEF fluid level exceeds 90%. The beep is notification that the DEF tank is almost full.
Install the blue DEF tank filler cap. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities" for more information on diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) guidelines.
