Removal Procedure
Park the machine on a hard, level surface. Lower the scraper bowl to the ground and engage the parking brake. Chock the wheels in order to prevent the machine from moving.
Personal injury or death can result from a fire.Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire.Clean up all leaked or spilled fuel. Do not smoke while working on the fuel system.Turn the disconnect switch OFF or disconnect the battery when changing fuel filters.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Put identification marks on all lines, hoses, wires, and tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses and tubes.

Install a 1/2" - 13 NC eyebolt to the access panel. Attach a nylon lifting strap and a hoist to the access panel. Remove three bolts (1) and the washers that secure access panel (2) to the scraper. Remove access panel (2) from the scraper. The access panel weighs 88 kg (194 lb).

Shut off valve (3) .

Remove electrical connection (4) from the clip. Disconnect electrical connection (4). Disconnect two hose assemblies (5) and the O-ring seals from fuel priming pump (6). Remove the bolt and the washer that secures clamp (7) to the scraper. Remove fuel priming pump (6) from the scraper.Installation Procedure

Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement. Lubricate the O-ring seals with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Position fuel priming pump (6) to the scraper. Install the bolt and the washer that secures clamp (7) to the scraper. Connect the O-ring seals and hose assemblies (5) to fuel priming pump (6). Connect electrical connection (4). Install electrical connection (4) to the clip.

Turn on valve (3) .
