Remove four bolts (9) and cover (8) from the pressure control valve. Remove O-ring seal from cover (8). 7. Remove slug (10) and converter ratio valve spool (11) from valve body.8. Remove relief valve spool assembly (12) from valve body. 9. Remove slug (13), ring and shim pack (15) from valve spool (14). 10. Remove retaining ring (16) from valve spool with tooling (A).11. Remove retainer (18), spring (17) and plunger (19) from valve spool (14). 12. Remove bolts (21) and cover (20) from valve body. 13. Remove O-ring seals (22) from cover and inspect seals for wear or damage. 14. Remove stop (25), spring (23), spring (24) and washer from the pressure control valve body. 15. Remove valve spool (26) from valve body. 16. Remove piston (27) and two springs from valve body. 17. Remove plate (28) from hydraulic controls. 18. Remove selector valve group (29) from transmission. 19. Remove two detent assemblies (31) from the selector valve body. The other detent is directly opposite on the other side of valve body.20. Remove bolt (32) and speed selector valve spool (30) from valve body. 21. Remove speed selector valve spool (33) from valve body. 22. Bend tab on lock and remove setscrew (36) and lock from valve body. Remove two detent assemblies (34) from valve.23. Remove directional selector valve spool (35) from the valve body. 24. Inspect the O-ring seals (37) on the four detent assemblies and make any replacements if necessary. 25. Remove two bolts and cover (38) from the selector control valve body. Remove the O-ring seal from cover. 26. Remove plug (39) from valve body. 27. Remove ring (40) and slide sleeve (41) in the transmission case.28. Remove four bolts (43) and manifold (42) from transmission. 29. Remove five O-ring seals (44) from the plantary group. 30. Remove bolts (45) to remove lever assemblies (46) from shafts. Slide shafts (48) from case and remove washers (47). Remove sleeve (41) from the transmission case. 31. If necessary, remove rings (49) from shafts with tool (B) and dowels (50) from levers. 32. Remove O-ring seals (51) from sleeve.Install Transmission Hydraulic Control Valve
Before assembly inspect all O-ring seals for damage and make any replacements if necessary. Put oil on all parts before assembly. 1. Install rings (1) on shafts with tool (A). 2. Install dowels in levers (2) and (3). The "X" dimension from lever (2) to end of dowel is 1.28 in. (32.512 mm). The "Y" dimension of lever (3) is 1.19 in. (30.226 mm).3. Hold levers (2) and (3) in position in case and install washers (4) and shafts (5). Be sure the ring on shaft is in the washer counterbore. Make an alignment of the holes in shafts and levers. Install bolts and tighten to a torque of 35 3 lb.ft. (45 4
