Inspect all parts and clean all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

Install coupling hub (12) to the spline of hydrostatic pumps (4). The face of hub (12) must be installed to a dimension of 68.6 1 mm (2.7 0.04 inch) from the face of pump (4). This dimension is shown in the graphic above as dimension (x). Tighten allen head screw (13) to a torque of 85 5 N m (62 4 lb ft).

Position flange (11) to the engine. Install eight bolts (10) that secure flange (11) to the engine.

Install tooling (A) to the rear of the engine. Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (A). Raise the rear of the engine in order to allow the installation of adapter plate (8) .
Attach a suitable lifting device to the lifting eye of adapter plate (8). Install adapter plate (8) to the rear of the engine. The weight of adapter plate (8) is 34 kg (75 lb).

Secure adapter plate (8) with seven bolts (9) and the washers.Note: Install only seven bottom bolts (9) at this time.

The engine was removed for photographic purposes.
Install five clips (7) to the top of adapter plate (8). Secure clips (7) and adapter plate (8) with the remaining five bolts (9) .Note: Position clips (7) in the proper configuration.
Lower the engine and the pump mount into position.

Install two rubber washers (6) and two hard washers. Install two rear engine mount bolts (5) and the nuts.

Attach a suitable nylon strap to pump (4). Install coupling hub (12) into flange (11). Install two bolts (3). Bolts (3) secure pump (4) to adapter plate (8) .Note: Check coupling hub (12) for tightness prior to installation.
Place wires (2) in position. Secure wires (2) to clips (7) with wire tie-wraps (1) .

Remove Tooling (A) from the rear of the engine.End By: Install the hood. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Title - Hood Install".
