Introduction
This procedure confirms that the propel pump is in neutral when the propel lever is in the NEUTRAL position. Test Preparation
Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.

Move propel lever (1) to the NEUTRAL position.

Move parking brake switch (2) to the ON position.
Use throttle decrease switch (3) in order to operate the engine in low idle.

Move engine start switch (4) to the OFF position.

Unhook latch (5) at the rear of the engine compartment, and open engine hood (6).

Remove locking pin (7) from hood support bracket (8). Move the bracket in order to support engine hood (6). Install the locking pin in order to secure the hood support bracket. Test Procedure
Make sure propel lever (1) is in the NEUTRAL position.

Use a square to check that the angle between centerline of cable (10) and the centerline of direction control lever (9) is approximately 90 degrees. If the angle is correct, go to Step 4. If the angle is not correct, go to Step 3.

Remove nut, spacer, washer and bolt from direction control lever (9) in order to disconnect cable (10) from direction control lever. Perform the adjustment procedure.
Remove locking pin (7) from hood support bracket (8). Move the bracket into the storage position. Install the locking pin in order to secure the hood support bracket.
Close engine hood (6) and secure latch (5). Adjustment Procedure

Loosen clamping bolt (11).

Use a square to establish an angle of 90 degrees between centerline of cable (10) and the centerline of direction control lever (9).
Hold direction control lever (9) in place, and tighten clamping bolt (11)

If necessary, loosen locknut (12) and adjust cable (10). Continue the adjustment until the cable can be installed on the bolt when the bolt is installed in direction control lever (9). If this adjustment aligns the cable and the bolt, tighten the locknut, and go to Step 6. If this adjustment does not align the cable and the bolt, go Step 5.

Use adjustment nuts (13) to move the cable into alignment with the bolt in direction control lever (9). Tighten the adjustment nuts when the cable is aligned with the bolt. Note: If necessary, necessary to repeat Step 4 and Step 5 to align the cable with the bolt.
Position cable (10) on direction control lever (9). Install the bolt, washer, spacer and nut. Tighten the nut.
Perform the test procedure.
