Note: The approximate coil resistance of the solenoid is 5 ohms at 25 °C (77 °F).This diagnostic code is associated with the proportional solenoid (Control to tank for hoist head end). The FMI 06 diagnostic code means that the electronic control module (ECM) has determined that the current of the solenoid is above normal.The possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed:
The energize circuit of the solenoid is shorted to ground.
The solenoid has failed.
The ECM has failed.Note: The following test procedure may create other diagnostic codes. Ignore these created diagnostic codes and clear these diagnostic codes when the original diagnostic code has been corrected. Ensure that the diagnostic code of CID 1239 FMI 06 is active before performing this procedure.Note: Use a calibrated 146-4080 Digital Multimeter for the measurements in this procedure.System Response:If the ECM receives a command of Lower or Float to the hoist system, the ECM will command the hoist pump control head solenoid, hoist pump control rod solenoid, and the hoist control rod solenoid to drain the hydraulic oil away from the head end of the cylinder. This action will allow the hoist system to be commanded to the float mode.The hoist system will have normal operation in the raise mode and the hold mode.When the diagnostic goes away, the following occurs:
The ECM will continue to command off this output until the hoist system goes into the raise mode or the hold mode.Test Step 1. CHECK THE SOLENOID
