Installation Procedure
Accidental machine starting can cause injury or death to personnel working on the machine.To avoid accidental machine starting, turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position and remove the key. If the machine is not equipped with a battery disconnect switch, disconnect the battery cables from the battery and tape the battery clamps.Place a do not operate tag at the battery disconnect switch location to inform personnel that the machine is being worked on.

Attach a hoist and a suitable lifting device to grapple arm (1) .
Insert grapple arm (1) into the felling head.
Install pivot pin (5) .
Install bolt (6) and the nut into pivot pin (5) .

Typical Example
Install locknut (7) and the washer on pivot pin (5). Note: The nut should already be installed if the left grapple arm cylinder was removed.Tighten the locknut until the clearance between arm hub (8) and frame hub (9) is 1 .5 mm (.04 .02 inch).
Remove the lifting device.

Place cylinder (4) into the grapple arm frame.
Install pivot pin (2) .
Install bolt (3) and the nut into pivot pin (2) .
Connect hydraulic hose assembly (9) to the head end of cylinder (4). Connect the hydraulic hose assembly to the rod end of cylinder (4) .
