Introduction
This Special Instructions contains the installation procedure of new NOx reduction system differential pressure sensor on certain machines.Do not perform any procedure in this Special Instruction until you have read the information and you understand the information.Safety Section
Accidental engine starting can cause injury or death to personnel working on the equipment.To avoid accidental engine starting, disconnect the battery cable from the negative (−) battery terminal. Completely tape all metal surfaces of the disconnected battery cable end in order to prevent contact with other metal surfaces which could activate the engine electrical system.Place a Do Not Operate tag at the Start/Stop switch location to inform personnel that the equipment is being worked on.

Use the following procedure to install the new NOx reduction system differential pressure sensor.

(A) NOx reduction system differential sensor

Check the components of the sensor kit are present and in good condition. The list of components are listed in Table 1.
Remove the existing NOx reduction system differential pressure sensor (A) 397-2874 Pressure Sensor Gp as follows:
Unplug the engine electrical harness (B) from the sensor.
Remove the two M8 x 20mm long flanged head bolts (C) and discard.
Remove the sensor, complete with two off seals and discard.
Clean and inspect the mating face of the NOx reduction system manifold onto which the sensor sits.
Assemble the new sensor kit as follows:
Ensure that both seals are correctly seated in the grooves of the sensor and are still located when fitting the sensor to the engine.

Position new sensor (1) onto the NOx reduction system manifold, ensuring that the sensor electrical connector is positioned as shown in Illustration 2. The sensor body is marked with a "+" and "-" symbols. Ensure that the sensor is orientated correctly.
Place the support bracket (3) onto the sensor as shown in Illustration 2.
Assemble the sensor and support bracket onto the NRS manifold. Tighten two off screws to a torque of 18 2 N m (159 18 lb in) using a 13mm AF socket Refer to Illustration 2.

Plug one end of the sensor harness (2) into the sensor. Engage the red latch (8) to lock the sensor harness to the sensor as shown in Illustration 3 and Illustration 4.

Route the sensor harness as shown in Illustration 4 and Illustration 5.Retain the sensor harness to the support bracket using three cable straps (5).Remove excessive length from the cable straps.

(9) Engine Harness
Plug the other end of the sensor harness into the engine harness (9). Engage the red latch on the engine harness to lock the sensor harness as shown in Illustration 6.
