PUMP GP-FUEL INJECTION 3167956 - Caterpillar

Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact the skin. Be sure that the engine and components are cool enough to touch with your bare hand prior to performing any service work.
The engine in the 5130B Excavator has two turbochargers. This procedure shows the removal of the right turbocharger. 1. Remove coupling (1) from elbow assembly (2). 2. Loosen clamp (3) on elbow (2). Remove elbow (2) and the metal ring from turbocharger (4). 3. Disconnect turbocharger inlet pressure sensor wiring harness (7) at the electrical connection. Loosen hose clamp (5) on elbow (6). Remove elbow (6) and the shield assembly from turbocharger (4). 4. Remove hose assembly (9) from union tee (8). 5. Remove tube assembly (12). Remove two bolts (10), the washers, and adapter (11).6. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 on the remaining turbocharger. 7. Loosen bolt (13), the nut, and the washers. Remove tube assembly (14) from the bracket. 8. Disconnect tube assembly (15) from turbocharger (4). 9. Remove three nuts (16), the bolts, and the washers that hold shield assembly (17) to turbocharger (4). Discard nuts (16) and the bolts after removal. 10. Remove two bolts (18) and the washers that hold shield assembly (17) to turbocharger (4). Remove shield assembly (17) from turbocharger (4). Discard bolts (18) after removal. 11. Loosen clamp (19) on exhaust coupling (20). Remove four bolts (22) from exhaust coupling (20). Remove three bolts (21), the nuts, and the washers that hold exhaust coupling (20) to turbocharger (4). Remove exhaust coupling (20) from turbocharger (4). 12. Position a suitable container under drain elbow (22) to contain any oil for storage or disposal. Remove two bolts (23) from drain elbow (24). Discard bolts (22) after removal. 13. Position a lifting sling around turbocharger (4), as shown. Secure the lifting sling to a hoist. Put tension on the lifting sling.14.
