Remove the starting motor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Electric Starting Motor - Remove and Install".
Remove the barring group. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Barring Group - Remove and Install".
If the exhaust elbow is attached to the flywheel housing, remove the exhaust elbow and remove the bracket for the exhaust elbow. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Exhaust Elbow - Remove and Install".
Remove the crankshaft rear seal and the wear sleeve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankshaft Rear Seal and Wear Sleeve - Remove".
Remove the speed/timing sensor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Speed/Timing Sensor - Remove and Install".
Remove the engine oil pan. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pan - Remove".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Remove the camshaft covers and gaskets.
Remove the bolts and plates from the camshafts.

Use Tooling (A) to remove camshaft drive gears (1).

Install Tooling (B) into the flywheel housing. Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (B). The weight of the flywheel housing is approximately 251 kg (553 lb).
Remove the bolts and remove flywheel housing (2).
Remove the gasket for the flywheel housing.
