A     3S-1356     Full Nut     1    Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Remove cotter pin (4). Remove nut (3) .
Loosen the bolt and nut (2). Install Tooling (A) on tie rod (1). Break the taper on tie rod (1) .
Remove Tooling (A) .
Remove tie rod (1) from link (5) .Note: For installation purposes, count the number of threads that are showing on tie rod (1) .Installation Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Install tie rod (1) on link (5) .Note: Refer to the removal procedure for the recorded number of threads on tie rod (1) .
Tighten the bolt and nut (2). Tighten nut (2) to a torque of 75 7 N m (55 5 lb ft).
Install nut (3). Tighten nut (3) to a torque of 220 14 N m (162 10 lb ft). Align the slots for the installation of cotter pin (4) .
Adjust the axle toe-in. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR4183, "Axle Toe-In (Front) - Adjust" for the correct procedure.
