This diagnostic code is recorded when the communication from the Implement ECM to the A/C Compressor Gateway is intermittent or has failed. The likely possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed below:
The harness has failed
The 12 V power supply to the A/C Compressor Gateway has failed
CAN communication circuit between Communication Gateway and Implement ECM may be open or shorted
CAN terminating resistors may be missing, shorted, damaged
Communication gateway may have failed
Implement ECM may have failedNote: Use a digital multimeter for the measurements in this procedure. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Electrical Schematic" for an electrical diagram of the air conditioning system.Test Step 1. CHECK THE CONNECTIONS.
Turn the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Turn the key start switch to the OFF position.
Inspect the harness connectors. Clean the contacts of the harness connectors and check the wires for damage to the insulation that is caused by excessive heat, pinching, or chafing.
Reconnect all harness connectors in order to make sure that the connectors are fully seated.
Turn the disconnect switch to the ON position.
Turn the key start switch to the ON position.
Start the engine.
Check the status of the diagnostic code.Expected Result:The diagnostic code is still active. The wiring harness or the connectors have been damaged or the connectors need to be cleaned. Results:
YES - The wiring harness or the connectors have been damaged or the connectors need to be cleaned.Repair: Clean the harness or replace the harness. Make sure that the new harness has corrected the diagnostic code.STOP
NO - The wiring harness or the connectors have not been damaged and the connectors are clean. The 12 V supply may have failed. Proceed to Test Step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK FOR VOLTAGE AT THE A/C COMPRESSOR GATEWAY.
Turn the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Turn the key start switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the connector to the A/C Compressor Gateway.
Connect the red multimeter probe to contact 57 (wire 592-BU) of the connector.
Connect the black multimeter probe to contact 68 (wire 212-BK) of the connector.
Turn the disconnect switch to the ON position.
Turn the key start switch to the ON position.
Measure the voltage.Expected Result:The voltage measurement is 12 VDC.Results:
OK - The voltage measurement is 12 VDC.Repair: Check the circuit again. Reconnect the connector to the A/C Compressor Gateway. Verify that the diagnostic code is still active.STOP
NOT OK - The voltage measurement is not 12 VDC. The A/C Compressor Gateway is not receiving the correct voltage.Repair: Check for a blown fuse. Replace the blown fuse. Verify that the new fuse has corrected the diagnostic code.If fuse does not fix the issue, check 24V to 12V power converter for correct operation. There may be a short or open in the power supply circuit. Proceed to Test Step 3.Test Step 3. CHECK THE DATA LINK CIRCUITS FOR AN OPENTurn the key switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
At the Implement ECM, disconnect the machine harness connector J2 from the Implement ECM.
Inspect the harness connector and clean all of the contacts of the harness connector. Ensure that the wires
