Remove Exhaust Manifold (Marine Engine)
Start By:a. remove turbocharger 1. Remove bolts (1), and disconnect flange (2) from the exhaust manifold. 2. Remove tube (6) from the engine.3. Remove the bolts that hold adapter (4) to the regulator housing, and move the adapter into pipe (5).4. Remove six bolts (3), and remove pipe (5) from the engine. 5. Remove nuts (8) and spacers (7), and remove exhaust manifold (9).6. Remove the gaskets from the cylinder head.Install Exhaust Manifold (Marine Engine)
1. Replace all seals that are worn or damaged, and put clean engine oil on them. 2. Make sure the seal is in position on elbow (1).3. Put 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compoundon the studs.4. Put gaskets (3) and exhaust manifold (2) on the cylinder head, and install the spacers and nuts that hold the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head. 5. Tighten the nuts in the number sequence shown to a torque of 38 5 N m (28 4 lb ft).
Typical Example6. Put the gasket and pipe (6) on the cylinder head, and install bolts (4).7. Connect adapter (5) to the regulator housing.8. Install tube (7) on the engine. 9. Start By:a. remove turbocharger 1. Remove bolts (1). Remove elbow (2). 2. Remove bolt and washer (3).3. Disconnect line (4). Cap and plug all openings immediately. 4. Remove six bolts and washers (5). Remove two bolts and washers (6) and bracket (8).5. Remove housing (7) and the gasket.6. Remove tube assembly (9). Check the O-ring seals on tube assembly (9) and replace with new parts if necessary. 7. Remove three bolts (10) and water temperature regulator housing (11). 8. Remove extension (16). Check the O-ring seals for damage and replace if necessary.9. Loosen the remaining bolt on bracket (15). Move the bracket down and out of the way.10. Remove twelve nuts, washers and spacers (12).11. Remove exhaust manifold (13) and the gaskets. The following steps are for the installation of the exhaust manifold. 12. Put 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compoundon the exhaust manifold studs.13. Put the gaskets and exhaust manifold (13) on the cylinder head, and install spacers and nuts (12) that hold the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head. 14. Tighten the nuts in the number sequence shown to a torque of 38 5 N m (28 4 lb ft).15. Put bracket (15) in position and tighten bolt (14).16. Install extension (16). 17. Put water temperature regulator housing (11) in position and secure with three bolts (10). 18. Put tube assembly (9), housing (7) and bracket (8) in position and secure with bolts (5) and (6). 19. Connect line (4).20. Install bolt and washer (3). 21. Put elbow (2) in position and secure with bolts (1) and (2).End By:a. install turbocharger
