Note: Your machine may not have some of the oil sampling valves. Use a suction gun in order to draw oil from the filler holes of your machine when a sampling valve is not available. Refer to Special Publication, PEHP6001, "How To Take A Good Oil Sample" for more information about obtaining a sample of oil.

Sampling valve (1) for the engine oil is located on filter base.

Sampling valve (2) for the steering and the brake system is located on the cover assembly. Sampling valve (3) for the ejector system is located on the return screen.

Sampling valve (4) for the transmission oil is located on the transmission oil filter.Samples from the above points must be taken when the engine is running and the oil is at operating temperature.More Frequent S O S Sampling
Traditionally, the suggested S O S sampling intervals have been at each oil change, 250 hours for engines, or every 500 hours for all other compartments. Whenever conditions are extreme, a sampling interval of 250 hours for all compartments is recommended. Working in high environmental temperatures may be an extreme condition that would warrant a sampling interval of every 250 hours.
