Remove the heater and the air conditioning unit. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Heater and Air Conditioning Unit - Remove". Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove plate (1) and floor mat (2).

Remove bolts (3) and (5). Position cover (4) to the side.

Remove bolts (7) and position bracket assembly (6) to the side.

Remove bolt (13) and shaft (12).

Disconnect harness assembly (14). Harness assembly (14) is located behind the operator seat.

Disconnect hose (15). Hose (15) is located on the right front side of the cab for the windshield washer.

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to cab (16). The weight of cab (16) is approximately 250 kg (550 lb).
Remove 12 bolts (17) that are located around the back of the operator seat and around the inside of cab. Remove cab (16).
