Assembly Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Install valve seat (1) in the tee fitting of the gas line.

Install valve (3) on the gas pressure regulator. Ensure that the valve is engaged with lever (4).
Install diaphragm assembly (2) in the gas pressure regulator. Ensure that the diaphragm assembly is engaged with the lever (4).

Personal injury can result from parts and/or covers under spring pressure.Spring force will be released when covers are removed.Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.
Install spring (6) and cover (5) on the gas pressure regulator.
Install the coupling and the retainer ring on the gas pressure regulator.

Install gas line (7) on the gas pressure regulator. End By:
Install the gas pressure regulator. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Gas Pressure Regulator - Install" for the engine that is being serviced.
