PUMP GP-PISTON 3849431 - Caterpillar

1. Remove the oil from the hydraulic tank.2. Remove plug (1). Remove the oil from the hydraulic oil pump. 3. Disconnect two oil lines (2) from the cooler pump.4. Remove two bolts (4) and the cooler pump (3). Remove the coupling from the drive shaft in the hydraulic oil pump.Install Cooler Pump
1. Install coupling (1) for cooler pump. 2. Make sure the O-ring seal is in position on the cooler pump. Install cooler pump (2) on the hydraulic pump. Make sure the splines on the drive shaft of the cooler pump are in alignment with the splines in the coupling.3. Install two bolts (3) that hold the pump in position.4. Connect two oil lines (4) to the cooler pump. 5. Install plug (6) and remove plug (5). Fill the hydraulic pump with clean SAE 10 oil through the hole from which plug (5) was removed.Disassemble Cooler Pump
START BY:a) remove cooler pump 1. Remove bolts (1). Remove plate (2) from the body. 2. Remove body (3) from plate (5).3. Remove drive gear (4) and idler gear (6) from plate (5). 4. Remove diaphragm (7) and gasket (8) from plate (5).5. Remove springs (9) and the balls under the springs from plate (5). 6. Remove gasket (10) and diaphragm seal (11) from plate (5).7. Remove the shaft seal from plate (5).Assemble Cooler Pump
1. Install the shaft seal with tooling (A). Install the seal with the lip in. 2. Install diaphragm seal (1), the gasket and gasket (4) in plate (5).3. Put balls (3) and springs (2) in position in plate (5). 4. Put diaphragm (6) in position on plate (5). The bronze side of the diaphragm must be in contact with the two gears.5. Install drive gear (7) and idler gear (8) in plate (5). 6. Put body (10) in position on plate (5) over the gears. The arrow on the body must point in the direction of pump shaft rotation.7. Put plate (11) in position on body (10). Install bolts (9) that hold it. Tighten bolts (9) to a torque of 27 2 lb.ft. (37 3 N m).END BY:a) install cooler pump
