   When used in complete sets, the new 218-3589 Piston can be used as a direct replacement for any of the earlier pistons that are used in these engines.Note: Because of the weight of the new piston, the new 218-3589 Piston CAN NOT be mixed with any previous pistons that are used in these engines. If the 218-3589 Piston is used, all of the pistons in the engine must be 218-3589 Pistons .The 172-6772 Piston will remain available for parts service. This piston can be used to replace individual pistons in engines that are not equipped with 218-3589 Pistons.
