Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the engine oil relief valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Relief Valve - Remove and Install".
Remove the housing for the crankshaft rear seal. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankshaft Rear Seal - Remove".
Remove the engine oil pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pump - Remove".
Remove the pistons and the connecting rods. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Pistons and Connecting Rods - Remove".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Place the engine in an upward position. Place blocking under the cylinder block in order to support the crankshaft assembly. Ensure that the crankshaft assembly does not move when bolts (3) and allen head screws (2) are removed.
Attach a suitable lifting device (1) to crankshaft (6) and main bearing assembly (5) . The weight of crankshaft (6) and main bearing assembly (5) is approximately 15 kg (33 lb).
Remove bolts (3) from crankcase cross member (4) .
Remove allen head screws (2) that are recessed. The screws are located at the rear of the engine.
Lift crankshaft (6) and main bearing assembly (5) from cylinder block (7) . Do not scratch any of the finished surfaces on the crankshaft.
