"Course Tuning"
Install pressure sensors (B) into ports (3) and (4). Connect pressure sensors (B) to pressure indicator (A). Ensure that pressure indicator (A) is visible from the cab.
Start the engine.
Set engine speed to 1600 RPM.
Apply the service brake. Disengage the parking brake. Turn the All Wheel Drive system to the "CREEP" mode. Leave the "FNR" switch in the "NEUTRAL" position.
Check the pressures on the sensors. The difference between the sensors should be less than 400 kPa (58 psi). Note: If the difference is greater than 400 kPa (58 psi), an adjustment to screw (9) is required. Perform Step 5.a through Step 5.e in order to adjust the pressures.
Shut down the machine.
Loosen nut (8).
If the pressure at location (3) has the highest reading, turn screw (9) outward. Screw (9) should be turned 90 degrees or less at a time. Perform Step 2 through Step 5 in order to verify the pressure reading at location (1).
If the pressure at location (4) has the highest reading, turn screw (9) inward. Screw (9) should be turned 90 degrees or less at a time. Perform Step 2 through Step 5 in order to verify the pressure reading at location (1).
Tighten nut (8) to 25 N m (18 lb ft). Fine Tuning
Start the machine.
Set engine speed to 1600 RPM.
Apply the service brake. Disengage the parking brake. Turn the All Wheel Drive to the "CREEP" mode. Leave the "FNR" switch in the "NEUTRAL" position. Set the AWD aggression dial to the center position.
Continue to engage the service brake. Shift the "FNR" switch to the "FORWARD" position for approximately 3 seconds. Shift the "FNR" switch to the "NEUTRAL" position.
Continue to engage the service brake. After approximately 10 seconds after shifting back to the "NEUTRAL" position, check the readings on the pressure sensors.
Record the readings that were obtained in Step 5. Note: The pressure difference between location (3) and location (4) should return to 400 kPa (58 psi) after the machine is shifted from "FORWARD" to "NEUTRAL".
Continue to engage the service brake. Shift the "FNR" switch to the "REVERSE" position for approximately 3 seconds. Shift the "FNR" switch back to the "NEUTRAL" position.
Continue to engage the service brake. After approximately 10 seconds after shifting back to the "NEUTRAL" position, check the readings on the pressure sensors.
Record the readings that were obtained in Step 8. Note: The pressure difference between location (3) and location (4) should return to 400 kPa (58 psi) after the machine is shifted from "REVERSE" to "NEUTRAL".Note: The difference between the pressure sensor readings during "FORWARD" and during "REVERSE" should be symmetrical.
If the pressure readings are not within 400 kPa (58 psi), perform the following steps:
Shut down the machine.
Adjust screw (9) without loosening nut (8).
If the reading at location (3) is the highest reading, turn screw (9) outward. The adjustment to screw (9) should be slight. Perform Step 1 through Step 10 in order to verify the pressure reading at location (1).
If the reading at location (4) is the highest reading, turn screw (9)
