Start By:a. remove hood1. Drain the hydraulic tank.2. Open the engine panels on both sides of the machine. Remove the lower access panels below the left and right engine panels.
At operating temperature, engine coolant is hot and under pressure. Steam can cause personal injury. Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure. Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
3. Release the pressure in the cooling system by slowly loosening the filler cap on the radiator. Drain the coolant from the radiator. 4. Remove four bolts (4) from upper and lower guard assemblies (3).5. Remove the washers, bolts (1) and upper and lower guard assemblies (3).6. Remove the bolts and four panels (2).7. Loosen two hose clamps and disconnect lower radiator hose (6).8. Remove two bolts and set bracket assembly (5) aside.
Always wear goggles when working on air conditioning systems. The system is under pressure at all times, engine running or not. Escaping Freon -12 (CCI2F2 - Dichlorodifluoromethane) can cause freezing of human flesh. Do not smoke while working on air conditioning systems. INHALING R-12 THROUGH ANY SMOKING MATERIAL, ALTHOUGH NOT TOXIC OR FLAMMABLE CAN GENERATE LETHAL PHOSPHENE GAS AND CAUSE VIOLENT ILLNESS OR DEATH. ALSO, HEAT MUST NEVER BE APPLIED TO A CHARGED SYSTEM. 9. Purge the air conditioning system. Refer to the topic "Purging the System" in the Air Conditioning And Heating Service Manual, form SENR3334-01, for this information. 10. Remove the bolt from support clamp holding wiring harness (8). Remove connector (7) from the support bracket and disconnect.11. Mark the positions of lines (9) for purposes of reassembly. Disconnect lines (9). Plug and cap all openings to prevent debris from entering the system. 12. Disconnect wire (12) from the fuel sending unit.13. Disconnect tubes (11). Plug and cap all openings to prevent contamination and debris from entering the system.14. Remove bolts (10) from each side of the radiator frame. 15. Use tooling (A) to attach a hoist to the radiator.16. Remove the radiator and guard from the machine. The weight of the radiator and guard is 231 kg (510 lb.).17. Install the radiator and guard in the reverse order of removal.18. Fill the hydraulic tank and radiator with the proper fluids to the correct levels. Refer to the Operation & Maintenance manual for further information.19. Charge the air conditioner.
