This Program can be administered either before or after a failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS4400" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

The welds securing the lower cross tube to the doubler plate on certain IT28G Standard 1226402 quick couplers may crack causing structural failure of the coupler. Rectification of failed welds to an acceptable standard is not possible, therefore couplers exhibiting any crack in the lower tube securing welds should be replaced.

Attach.(1-Rework Procedure)Rework Procedure
1. Remove any attachment from the coupler.2. Disconnect the quick coupler hydraulic supply lines at the coupler.3. A) On machines with coupler only:Remove 6V8981 and 6V8988 Bulkhead Fitting Elbows from the coupler by releasing the 6V9169 Nut-Bulkhead.Leave the elbows and hoses connected to the coupler cylinder.
B) On machines equipped with auxiliary 3rd function:Remove the 8T4136 Bolts and 8T4121 Washers from the 1280180 Valve and 1227272 Block. Do not disconnect the hoses from the valve, block or coupler cylinder.
4. Remove the two 8T4136 Bolts and 8T4121 Washers securing the 1280182 Cover Plate over the coupler cylinder lines and fittings. Remove the cover plate. Remove the four 8T4189 Bolts and 8T4224 washers securing the 1226429 Cover Plate over the coupler cylinder. Remove the cover plate.5. Drive out the two 6W5760 Dowels and push both 6W5761 Pins away from the cylinder far enough to clear the cylinder rods. Lift out the cylinder complete with lines. push the 6W5761 Pins inwards and remove.6. Support the coupler and remove the four mounting pins, noting the position of, and taking care not to lose the shims.7. Install the new coupler with existing pins and shims.8. Remove the 1226429 Coupler Cylinder Cover Plate from the new coupler.9. Lubricate and install the existing 6W5761 Pins, and push far enough into the coupler to allow the cylinder to be installed. Install the cylinder complete with lines.10. Push the 6W5761 Pins inwards over the cylinder rods and install the two new 6W5760 Dowels through the 6W5761 Pins and cylinder rods, using suitable lubricant
