The 424-8895 C175 Crankshaft Lifting Device The 424-8895 C175 Crankshaft Lifting Device is a one-piece tool that is used to move and position C175 Crankshafts during rebuild operations. The 424-8895 C175 Cylinder Block Lifting Device enables crankshaft central lifting and balance during all processes. The 424-8895 C175 Crankshaft Lifting Device reduces time spent by eliminating the need for straps and/or adapters. The tool also improves the quality of the repair by eliminating potential damage to the journals or threaded joints.Specifications

The vertical bar (B) is centered on the crankshaft. The Lifting Tangs (D) are securely seated on the bottom of the counterweights.
Move the lifting device horizontally until the vertical bar is located at the center of the crankshaft.

The C175 crankshaft tool is in the locked position and is ready to lift. Both the fixed end (C) and the telescoping end (A) are tight against the crankshaft's counterweights.
Move the locking device handle downward.
Move the fixed end of the fixture horizontally until the lifting tang on the fixed end of the fixture is located under the crankshaft's counterweight. As shown in illustration 7.
Unlock the locking device by moving the handle upward.
Move the telescoping end of the fixture until it is located under the crankshaft's counterweight.Note: Make sure that the telescoping end and the fixed end of the lifting device are positioned tightly against the counterweights of the crankshaft.
Move the locking device handle downward to lock into the tool in place.
Proceed to lift the crankshaft.Note: Refer to the appropriate Disassembly and Assembly manual for moving and positioning the C175 Crankshaft.Maintenance Section
Inspection
Inspect Equipment - Inspect tool prior to each use for nicks, burrs, dents, cracks, bent, or worn parts. If damage is found, discontinue use, destroy the tool, and depose of as scrap.
Working Load Limit (WLL) mark - Do not use lifting device unless load identification (WLL) markings are legible.
Safety Alert - Do not use lifting device if mounting hole or lifting holes are elongated or deformed. Cleaning
Clean the tool using nonsolvent based cleaners.Storage
Store tool indoors in a dry location to prevent rust and corrosion.Disposal
