Do not disconnect the air lines until the air pressure in the system is at zero. If hose is disconnected under pressure it can cause personal injury.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Remove the air pressure from the air tank and drain the coolant from the cooling system.

Disconnect hose assemblies (2), (3), (4), (6), and (7) from air compressor (1).
Install Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to air compressor (1). The weight of air compressor (1) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb).
Remove bolts (5) and the washers.
Remove air compressor (1) and the gasket. Installation Procedure

Install Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to air compressor (1). The weight of air compressor (1) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb).
Position air compressor (1) in the front housing cover.
Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of bolts (5). Install the washers and bolts (5).
Connect hose assemblies (2), (3), (4), (6), and (7) into air compressor (1).
Fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Refill Capacities and Recommendations".
