Before any tests are performed, prepare the machine. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Machine Preparation". Before any tests are performed, visually inspect the complete hydraulic system for oil leaks and damaged parts. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Visual Inspection".Note: The oil in the hydraulic system must be at an operating temperature of 45° 5°C (113° 9°F). This temperature range is specified for standard factory fill oil only. Use the Electronic Technician Software in order to monitor this temperature. Or refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Hydraulic Oil Temperature Test" for an alternate procedure.Test Procedure
Standby Pressure Test and Adjust
Release hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Hydraulic System Pressure Release" for the correct procedure.
Raise the cab. Refer to Operator and Maintenance Manual, "Cab Tilting" for the correct procedure.
Install Tooling (B) to pressure tap (1) use the 8T-0856 Pressure Gauge (0 TO 6,000-KPA (0 TO 870-PSI))
Lower the cab. Secure the hydraulic lines so that the pressure gauge can be viewed by the operator during the test. Make sure that the hoses are not being pinched when the cab is lowered.
Sit in the operator seat. Fasten the seat belt and lower the armrest. Start the engine. Release the parking brake and run the engine at high idle.
Record the pressure on the gauge. This value is the standby pressure of the work tool system.
The standby pressure should be 1400 300 kPa (203 43 psi).
If the standby pressure is correct, shut off the machine. Release the hydraulic system pressure. Disconnect Tooling (B).
If the standby pressure is not correct, stop the engine and adjust the standby pressure screw on the pump compensator based on which type of pump the machine is equipped with, refer to "Type 1 Pump - External Compensator" or to "Type 2 Pump - Internal Compensator". Type 1 Pump - External Compensator
Loosen the locking nut.
Use a 3 mm hex key wrench and adjust the standby pressure adjustment screw (3). Note: Do not turn the adjustment screw past the compensator body.To increase the
