(1) 353-5795 Plate (2) 4J-5268 O-Ring Seal The track adjuster and recoil system is protected by a "fuse" plate and o-ring. The "fuse" plate is designed to yield during the occurrence of a high-pressure event in order to prevent damage to the adjuster or other major undercarriage components.The 353-5795 Plate ("fuse" plate) (1) in the track adjuster group may fail. In certain materials and applications, some machines are more prone to materials packing in the link box which can result in full compression of the recoil spring. Under this condition, forces encountered that would normally cause a recoil reaction are relieved through the "fuse" plate yielding.It has been determined that the machines equipped with System-One track systems, without full length track guiding guards are the most likely configurations to encounter this issue.Solution

Replace the failed 353-5795 Plate with a new 353-5795 Plate (1). Do not attempt to reuse the failed plate regardless of condition of the plate. Replace the failed 4J-5268 O-Ring Seal with a new 4J-5268 O-Ring Seal (2) .For the machines listed above, especially in the case of multiple failures of the fuse plate, consideration should be given to the installation of full length track guiding guards to help prevent the link box from packing with material. Table 1 shows the price list arrangement numbers for full length track guiding guards for each model with System-One track. Track roller frames are pre-drilled and tapped to accept full length track guiding guards.
