(1) Striker. (2) Neutralizer valve. (3) Location for the ball of putty. The following information is the process for checking the neutralizer valves and adjusting the neutralizer valves:
Place a 12.7 mm (0.50 inch) ball of putty on the front frame of the upper hitch at position (3) .
Start the engine and operate the engine at high idle.
Raise the work tool about 305 mm (12 inch) and release the brakes.
With the engine at high idle, turn the steering wheel rapidly into both stops.
Stop the engine. Engage the parking brake.
Thickness of the putty must be 6.4 3.0 mm (0.25 0.12 inch). This is the clearance dimension for the frame when a full turn has been made.
If the clearance is not correct adjust the strikers until the dimension is correct.
Repeat steps 1 through 6 until the correct clearance is obtained.
