Open the rear engine hood. Primary fuel filter (1) is located on the right side of the machine.
Open the drain valve on the bottom of water separator bowl (2). Allow the water and fuel to drain into a suitable container.
Remove primary fuel filter (1) from the mounting base.
Remove water separator bowl (2) from the fuel filter. Clean the water separator bowl and the O-ring groove.Note: The water separator bowl is reusable. Do not discard the water separator bowl.
Inspect the O-ring seal on water separator bowl (2) for damage. Replace the O-ring seal, if necessary.
Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean diesel fuel or with motor oil. Place the O-ring seal in the water separator bowl.
Install water separator bowl (2) onto the new fuel filter hand tight. Do not use tools to tighten the fuel filter.
Do not fill fuel filters with fuel before installing them. The fuel will not be filtered and could be contaminated. Contaminated fuel will cause accelerated wear to fuel system parts. The fuel system should be primed prior to starting the engine.
