This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI3801" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI3801" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

A longer driveshaft is needed on certain 988F Wheel Loaders using a lock-up torque converter. The longer driveshaft will help prevent high spline pressures at the yoke-to-transmission input shaft and possible seal leakage at the yoke-to-transmission slip joint.

Remove the existing driveshaft. Then remove the yoke from the transmission. Replace the seal in the transmission input case. Clean the seal surface on the transmission input yoke. Inspect splines on the inside diameter of the yoke and transmission input shaft, for excessive wear or other damage. Replace the yoke or input shaft if needed. Install the new driveshaft and tighten bolts to the proper torques.
