In order to check the backhoe boom, the bucket and the stick cylinders, position the implements in the following manner. Position the stick horizontally to the ground. Position the bucket so the bottom is perpendicular to the ground. Place the implement controls in the HOLD position.If the machine is equipped with an extendable stick, fully retract the extendable stick. Raise the boom until the bucket is 200 to 400 mm (7.9 to 15.8 inch) above the ground. Place the implement controls in the HOLD position. Measure the drift distance and check the time.

81 °C (178 °F)     1.1    To check stabilizer cylinder drift, first raise the loader bucket to 800 to 1000 mm (31.5 to 39.4 inch) above the ground. Place the lift control lever in the HOLD position. Tilt the bucket until the bucket is level. Place the tilt control lever in the HOLD position.Position the backhoe in the following position. Place the stick horizontally to the ground. Position the bucket so the bottom is perpendicular to the ground. Place the implement controls in the HOLD position.If the machine is equipped with an extendable stick, fully retract the extendable stick. Raise the boom until the bucket is 200 to 400 mm (7.9 to 15.8 inch) above the ground. Place the implement controls in the HOLD position. Measure the drift distance and check the time.Lower the stabilizer cylinders and lift the rear wheels about 50 mm (2.0 inch) off the ground.

Check the makeup valves or the line relief valves in the affected control valves.
Check the condition of the valve spools in the affected control valves.
Check the cylinder seals.Cylinder Speed Check for the Implements, Cylinder Speed Check for the Swing, and Cylinder Speed Check for the Stabilizers
Start the engine and run the engine at high idle. Increase the oil temperature to a minimum of 49 °C (120 °F) by operating each of the implements several times. During the actual tests, leave the engine at high idle. The following tests should be done through the full cylinder stroke.
