1. Before attempting to inspect or replace the EEPROM, make sure the display is disconnected from the vehicle wiring harness.2. Remove the display from the dash.
Do not use a screwdriver to remove the EEPROM cover. Damage to the display will result.

(1) EEPROM cover. (2) Tabs.3. Grasp both sides of EEPROM Cover (1) and remove it from the back of the display.

(3) EEPROM carrier. (4) Tabs.4. Remove the EEPROM carrier (3) from the display by carefully grasping two tabs (4) at the top and bottom and removing the carrier.5. To install a new EEPROM (or reinstall the old EEPROM), match the notches at the top and bottom of the EEPROM carrier cavity with the EEPROM carrier. Insert the EEPROM until the top of the carrier is flush with the carrier cavity.6. Reinstall the EEPROM cover.7. Reconnect the display and make sure it is operating correctly. Disconnect the display and proceed to the next step if the display is functioning properly.8. Install the display into the on-dash bracket, or install it into the dash. For in-dash installations, make sure the mounting bracket notch can go around the harness grommet.
