Idling
When you idle the engine in order to warm up the engine, observe the following recommendations:
Allow the engine to warm up for approximately 15 minutes when the temperature is higher than 0°C (32°F).
Allow the engine to warm up for approximately 30 minutes or more when the temperature is below 0°C (32°F).
More time may be required if the temperature is less than −18°C (0°F). More time may also be required if the hydraulic functions are sluggish.Additional Low Idling Speed
Note: If the engine is running at low idle with the parking brake ON and the engine coolant temperature is below 70 °C (158.0°F) for a period of ten minutes, the engine speed will automatically increase to 1000 RPM. This increases the coolant temperature faster.
