Disassembly Procedure
Start By:
Remove the gerotor motor. Refer to Service Manual, "Gerotor Motor - Remove".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Put identification marks on the gerotor motor in order to ensure proper placement when you assemble the gerotor motor.

Remove five bolts (1) and end cover (2) .

Turn over end cover (2) and remove the seal ring (3). Discard the seal ring.

Remove commutator (4) .
Remove rotor set (7) .Note: Components of the rotor set may become disassembled when you remove rotor set (7). Put identification marks on the top of stator (5) and on the top of rotor (6) before you remove rotor set (7).

Turn over rotor set (7). Remove seal ring (8). Discard the seal ring.

Remove drive link (9) .
Remove wear plate (10) .

Remove spring (12) .
Remove seal ring (11) from motor housing (14). Discard the seal ring.
Remove thrust bearing (13) .

Remove coupling shaft (15) from motor housing (14) .

Remove shaft seal (16) from motor housing (14). Discard the seal.

Remove dust seal (17) from mounting plate (18). Discard the seal.
Heat allen head screws (19) to 150 °C (300 °F). Remove the screws from mounting plate (18) .
Remove mounting plate (18) from motor housing (14) .

Remove seal ring (20) from motor housing (14). Discard the seal ring.
