Ensure that the work tool is in the proper position, as shown above. The welded stops for the cylinder pins should be at the top of the work tool.
Remove the six bolts and the washers that secure cover (1) to the lower housing. Remove the cover from the work tool.
Extend cylinder (5). Attach an appropriate nylon lifting sling and a hoist to the cylinder. The weight of the cylinder is 238 kg (525 lb). Lift the cylinder into position in the work tool. Guide the hoses into position as you lift the cylinder into the work tool.

Note: When possible, lower the temperature of the cylinder pins before installation. This process allows more clearance for easier installation.
Attach an appropriate nylon lifting sling and a suitable lifting device to pin (13). The weight of the pin is 33 kg (73 lb). Lift the pin into position on the work tool. Align the pin with the stops that are welded to the housing. Apply 4C-5598 High Temperature Anti-Seize to the pin. Coat the threads and the smooth surface of the pin. Use a large hammer and brass drift to partially install the pin.Note: The tapered side of the spacers must face the cylinder.
Place two spacers (14) into position. Align the spacers, the cylinder, and the pin.

Continue to install the pin until the pin is flush with the stops. After the pin is secure, remove the lifting sling and the lifting device.
Install plate (12) to the pin. Use Tooling (A) to tighten the plate. After you tighten the plate, back off the plate until the nearest set of holes are aligned. Install two bolts (11) that secure the plate to the lower housing. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 125 N m (92 lb ft).

Lift pin (6) into position on the work tool. The weight of the pin is 16 kg (35 lb). Apply 4C-5598 High Temperature Anti-Seize to the pin. Coat the threads and the smooth surface of the pin. Align the pin with the stops that are welded to the housing. Use a large hammer and brass drift to partially install the pin.Note: The tapered side of the spacers must face the cylinder.
Place two spacers (7) into position. Align the spacers, the cylinder, and the pin.
Continue to install the pin until the pin is flush with the stops.

Install plate (4) to the pin. Use Tooling (A) to tighten the plate. After you tighten the plate, back off the plate until the nearest set of holes are aligned. Install the two bolts that secure the plate to the crushing arm. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 125 N m (92 lb ft).
Remove the lifting sling and the hoist from the cylinder.
