Disassembly Of Selector Valve
For a reference illustration of the disassembly procedures see Illustration C36977P1 on Page No. 35.
Removal of orifice plate.1. Remove cover (47) from the selector valve. Remove orifice plate (45) and gaskets on either side of plate. The steel ball (43) is under pressure from spring (42). Care must be taken when removing the cover with attached parts, so that the steel ball will not be lost.2. Remove the steel ball (43) and spring (42) from the valve body (23) (manifold).3. Remove the rate-of-rise piston (41), shims (40), inner spring (19), outer spring (18), and high pressure regulating piston (17) from the valve body (23).4. Remove the two bolts (10) securing the plate detent (14) to the valve body.
Removal of the valve stem.5. Remove the valve stem (16) from the valve body (23) with plate detent.6. Remove O-ring (15) from the valve stem (16).7. Remove the socket-head screw nut (12) from the shift lever (13) and the shift lever from the valve stem (16).
