Start by:a. Remove rear axle housing group.
Typical Example1. Place the oscillating axle on wood blocks, as shown.2. Remove bolts (1) and washers from cover (2). Remove cover (2) from rear trunnion support (3). 3. Remove thrust bearing (4) from rear trunnion support (3). 4. Remove bolts (5) and plate (6) from rear trunnion support (3). 5. Remove thrust bearing (7) from rear trunnion support (3) 6. Attach a hoist and suitable lifting slings to rear trunnion support (3). Carefully remove rear trunnion support (3) as shown. The weight of the rear support is 56 kg (123 lb).7. Remove O-ring seal (8) from rear trunnion support (3). 8. Use Tooling (A) and a press to remove sleeve bearing (9) from the back of rear trunnion support (3). 9. Attach a hoist and a suitable lifting sling to trunnion (11).10. Remove bolts (10) and washers that hold trunnion (11) to the axle housing.11. Use the hoist to carefully remove trunnion (11). The weight of the trunnion is 34 kg (75 lb). 12. Remove O-ring seal (12) from the trunnion. The following steps are for the installation of the rear support. 13. Install O-ring seal (12) on the trunnion. Apply a small amount of 1P-0808 General Purpose Grease to the O-ring seal. 14. Attach a hoist and a suitable lifting sling to trunnion (11). Install trunnion (11) in position as shown. The weight of the trunnion is 34 kg (75 lb).15. Install bolts (10) and washers that hold trunnion (11) to the axle housing. 16. Use Tooling (A) and a press to install the bearing in the rear support. 17. Install seal (8) in rear support (3). Put a small amount of 1P-0808 General Purpose Grease on the seal. 18. Install thrust bearing (7) to rear trunnion support (3) as shown. 19. Install plate (6) and bolts (5) to rear trunnion support (3). 20. Install thrust bearing (4) to rear trunnion support (3).
