PUMP KIT 5P2709 - Caterpillar

1. Remove the bolts and plate (1) that hold balancer shaft (2) in the cylinder block. Put identification marks on the left hand and right hand balancer shafts.2. Remove balancer shaft (2) from the cylinder block.3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 to remove the other balancer shaft. The following steps are for installation of the balancer shafts.4. Install balancer shaft (2) in the cylinder block.5. Put plate (1) in position, and install the bolts that hold it.6. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 to install the other balancer shaft.
Make sure the balancer shafts are in time before installing the oil pump. See the topic, Install Oil Pump.
