Inspection
Check that there has been no damage to the pump or hoses during transportation or storage. Ensure that electrical cable is in good condition. Verify that the available electrical power supply corresponds to the specification requirements.
It is recommended that the oil be drained warm so that particles are suspended and drained rather than settling and being left in pan to recirculate.
The DC powered pump provided with the Quick Drain Pump Group is designed to operate on 24 VDC. Use the supplied 9 ft long electrical cable to supply power to the pump from a 24 VDC battery. A 10 amp fuse is installed to protect the motor in case of electrical short.
Voltage drop in the cable varies depending on the distance from the battery to the pump and the gauge of the wire used. If the distance is greater than 9 ft, refer to National, International, or Local Electrical codes to ensure that the wire is of the correct size for this application.
Follow the applicable local regulations and laws, and government guidelines to collect and discard used engine oil.

Quick Drain Pump Connected to HSOC Fitting on a 992K Wheel Loader
Start engine and allow it to reach operating temperature
Shut off Engine when oil is sufficiently warm (>100°F).
Connect the connector at the end of the Quick Drain Pump Group suction hose to HSOC (High-Speed Oil Change) fitting located inside the Service panel of the machine being drained.
Place Quick Drain Pump Group discharge hose into container intended to receive used engine oil
Ensure that the Quick Drain Pump Group switch is in the OFF (0) position
Connect the black and red alligator clips to the 24V battery terminals (supplied at the end of the electrical cable) observing positive and negative polarity
When ready, activate the Quick Drain Pump via the toggle switch
Stay near the pump during the evacuation / draining process. It should take 3-5 minutes depending on the size of the engine oil compartment on the machine. Do not run the pump dry.
Upon completion of draining the oil from the machine – or to interrupt the drain process – deactivate the Quick Drain Pump via the toggle switch
Remove the alligator clips from the 24V battery terminals
Disconnect HSOC fittings from the engine service panel, and allow oil to drain freely into the oil container via the discharge hoseNote: Clean any dust or debris found on the dust caps of the HSOC fittings before placing them back.Maintenance and Troubleshooting
The Quick Drain Pump Group does not contain any serviceable parts. The following Troubleshooting Guide is provided to offer basic diagnostic assistance when you encounter abnormal service from your Quick Drain Pump Group.
