Removal Procedure
Start By:
Connect the steering frame lock.
Park the machine on a flat, level surface. Lower the bucket to the ground. Engage the parking brake. Chock the wheels in order to keep the machine from rolling when the drive shaft is removed.

Remove bolts (1).

Remove bolts (2) and drive shaft (3). The weight of drive shaft (3) is approximately 12 kg (27 lb.).

Remove clips (4) .

Using a suitable press, remove the spider and bearing assembly. Remove flange yoke (5) .
Repeat Steps 4 and 5 for the opposite end.Installation Procedure

Install flange yoke (5). Using a suitable press, install the spider and bearing assembly.

Install clips (4) .
Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for the opposite end.

Note: The end with the boot is assembled to rear of the machine.
Install drive shaft (3) with four bolts (2). The torque for bolts (2) is 105 20 N m (77 15 lb ft).

Install bolts (1). Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 35 N m (26 lb. ft.).
Lubricate the drive shaft. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Drive Shaft Universal Joint - Lubricate" for the correct procedure.End By: Separate the steering frame lock.
