The secondary brake control valve controls the air flow to the scraper brakes. Pressurized air flows from the air compressor to the secondary brake control valve. Pressurized air enters the control valve at inlet port (6). When the knob (1) of the secondary brake control valve is depressed, pressurized air flows through orifice (4) and past valve assembly (8). Pressurized air will hold valve (8) downward against exhaust port (7). Pressurized air leaves the secondary brake control valve through outlet port (5). Air flows to the following three locations:
The relay valve of the scraper
The secondary pilot valveWhen all the air tanks on the wheel tractor-scraper have been filled, the secondary brake control valve can activate all four brakes on the machine. The flow of pressurized air from the secondary brake control valve is blocked when the knob (1) of the secondary brake control valve is pulled upward to the out position. This will cause the brakes on the wheel tractor-scraper to engage.
