Remove four nuts (1) and four washers (2) .
Remove four bolts (3), two plate assemblies (4), and 12 shims (5). The shims can be reused.
Install 12 shims (5) and two plates (6). Install four bolts (7), eight washers (2) and four nuts (1) .
Install two plates (8). Install four bolts (9) and four nuts (1). Bolts (9) have special torque requirements. Refer to Specifications, SENR3130, "Torque Specifications", "Ground Engaging Tool (G.E.T.) Fasteners" for the correct information.Replace the Plate on the Elevator Frame Assembly

(10) Plate (W1) 12.0 mm (0.47 inch) (W2) 9.0 mm (0.35 inch) (W3) 6.0 mm (0.24 inch)Two plates must be replaced on the following machines: (S/N: AWB1-UP; 3XW1-UP) Place one new 218-0373 Plate (10) in position between the elevator frame assembly and plate (8) on each side of the machine. Tack weld both plates (10) to the frame. Ensure that plates (10) squarely contact plates (8) before proceeding.Weld the two plates (10) to the elevator frame assembly. Refer to illustration 2 for welding information. For the correct procedures, refer to Special Publications, SEPD0512, "Service Welding Guide".Set the Clearance

(11) Path of the tips of the flights (12) Cutting edge (A) ClearanceAdjust for clearance (A) between the flights and the cutting edge. Ensure that the floor is completely forward when you adjust the clearance. Clearance (A) is 61.0 mm (2.40 inch). Adjust the quantity of shims (5) in order to obtain the correct clearance. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Clearance Between Elevator Flight and Cutting Edge - Check/Adjust" for more information.Note: The shims under the bracket are spares. Do not discard the spare shims.
