A. Solenoid Replacement- Group 1- Kit 177-6682 (Reference Illustration 1)For each of the four 17W-solenoid coils located on the top of the pilot manifold,
1. Unscrew the bolt (Y) of the solenoid connector and disconnect it (Illustration 2)2. Unscrew and discard the old upper cap (item 7)3. Remove and discard the old 151-2515 solenoid coil (Item 6) as well as both old seals (Item 8)4. Clean the valve core with steel brush if needed5. Install the lower seal (smaller diameter) (Item 8')6. Install the new solenoid coil (Item 6')7. Install the upper seal (larger diameter) (Item 9')8. Install the new upper cap and tighten to a torque of 3 N m (Item 7')9. Install a new solenoid connector and torque the bolt to 0.5 N m (See Procedure "C")B. Solenoid Seal Replacement - Groups 2&3 - Kit 177-6686 (Reference Illustration 1)Applies to each of the four 17W-solenoid coils at the top of the pilot manifold and to both solenoid coils at the transmission manifold.
1. Unscrew and discard the current upper cap (item 7)2. Remove the solenoid from its nucleus (item 6)3. Discard both lower and upper seals both (items 8)4. Clean the valve core with steel brush (if needed)5. Install the new lower seal (smaller diameter) (item 8')6. Reinstall the same solenoid on the nucleus (item 6')7. Install the upper seal (larger diameter) (item 9')8. Screw the new upper cap with 3 Nm (item 7')9. Reconnect the solenoid connector and torque the bolt to 0.5 Nm (see procedure "C")C. Solenoid Connector Replacement- Groups 1 & 2- Kit 177-6661 (Reference Illustration 2)Applies to each of the four 17W-solenoids at the pilot manifold and both solenoids at the transmission manifold
1. Unscrew cap "c" of the connector to make sure the harness is free for removal2. Open the connector by pushing on surface "s"3. Disconnect both wires from the connector4. Discard the old cap "c" and the old connector5. Cleanly cut the last 5mm of both wires ends6. Remove items "b" and "c" from the new connector and install them properly oriented on the harness (As Illustrated)7. Without removing the insulation of both wire's ends, push both wires into the connector, through the connector seal "a" Some holes are prepared in seal "a" but not punched through. To make sure that the seal remains waterproof, only two places may be perforated for both wires and no more.
8. Remove the 5mm of the wire insulation and install two new terminals (5W9278)9. Connect the black wire onto connector pin "2" and the colored wire onto pin "1" A wrong connection will lead to malfunction of
